Auction Appraisal & Valuation
Our auction appraisal and valuation services are free of charge. One of our experts will research and assess your item to give a valuation. It will then be entered into the most relevant auction which attracts buyers from across the UK and abroad ensuring you achieve the best possible price.
Reserve Prices
Please note that you must tell the auctioneer if you require a minimum price (reserve that you wish to sell your item for. They will be happy to discuss and agree this with you. Please tick the box marked (Firm Reserve) on the entry form. Any reserve price is confidential and will not be disclosed to prospective buyers. If your item is sold with 'no reserve' it will be sold for the best price offered on the day of sale.
Payment
Once your buyer's funds have cleared in our account we aim to pay you via bank transfer approximately 15 working days after the auction. We do not pay interest on the period between your buyer's payment and your receipt of payment. Please remember that you will have to pay certain charges on your sale.
Buyer Default
We act as agents and cannot be held responsible if your buyer does not pay. We cannot pay you until we have received cleared funds.
How to Sell
There is a straightforward process to go through if you'd like to sell your item through us at auction.
Arrange a Valuation
You can either send details and an image to the saleroom via email and one of our specialists will get back to you or telephone us on 01380 729199 and we will make an appointment for someone to see you in person
If we feel the item is suitable for sale we will advise which sale would be best for it and arrange for you to leave it with us on valuation or deliver it to us by the closing date before the sale.
If appropriate we will agree a reserve price with you, if a reserve is not agreed we will use Auctioneers Discretion.
You will receive an email sale notification prior to the sale, if you have provided us with an email address.
Your item will be entered into auction, if it sells then you will payment via bank transfer approximately 15 working days after the sale.
Vendors Commission
Vendors Commission Rates - 15%
Loss/Damage Warranty - 1.5% of the sale price.
Lotting and Internet photography fee - £5 per lot.
Illustration charges - £5 per lot for Specialist Sales, premium position photographic charges are dependent on sale and catalogue.
All charges are plus VAT at the current rate.
